From September 8th 2008 Riseup Radio presents a new show, "Letters From...". This monthly show will bring you music and news of activism from > around the world, with each episode focusing on a different city. In the spirit of act local think global our first shows will visit Milwaukee, Wisonsin; Bologna, Italy; Istanbul, Turkey; Auckland, New Zealand; Atlanta, Georgia; and from there, who knows. Finding out and discussing the issues each city is currently facing during this time of enviromental, economic and social change. How do these problems differ from city to city and how do these differences alter the ways they are faced?

We will begin our journey in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a city infamous for it's position as the most segregated in the U.S, as well as Joseph McCarthy? and it's breweries. We'll be talking to some fine men and women of Milwaukee about the Good Jobs Livable Neighborhood programme, Latin America solidarity, Voces de la Frontera (an immigrant rights organisation) and Taste Emcees, Revolutionary Hip Hop. As well as this we'll be getting guided through some of the best underground music Milwaukee has to offer.
