• Include functionality for user to be able to pick region and topics and use cookie system for user to implement. Passed. (Probably back-end change, requires further consideration.)

• Make featured region and topic titles clickable to take you directly to their start pages.
• Test across a wider variety of browsers

Jobs done

• Promoted wire to stay in the open newswire, so there are two wires, one on the right, which is the open newswire with all not hidden articles including the promoted ones, and the promoted wire in the middle column with only the promoted articles. Passed? (As is, no change.)
• Other press – to be called “reposts”.
• Move the photo of the day further up to make it more prominent.
• Regions not as a drop down list, so they are one click away. Regions to be listed by activity. (possibly moved to the top)
• Topics to appear as “topics” header and for the list to appear you need to click on “topic”. i.e. one click away. (keep as drop down)

Jobs to be discussed/ looked at further

• Add a ticker to upload news ... Passed. (New ticker currently being written)
• Proposal to remove the word “other” for sites like Bristol or York – with reciprocity of links. List to be in alphabetical order not in order of what server they are hosted in. (Done)
• Regions lists to have all uk geographical regions and clicking on that region to take you to a page with only with wire posts relevant to that region. (still to be discussed)
• Clicking on a link to take you to the local page where it was posted, limiting the ticking options to one region only. Then there would be 3 newswires: uk, local and international. (still to be discussed)
• Future: Use Javascript event listeners for minimising lists, rather than onClick. Currently more work than it's worth, due to Internet Explorer broken DOM events support, but might be worth it in the future.
