UK Indymedia Regions Map

The idea

To create an interactive map, as a portal to the regional Indymedia groups within UK Indymedia.

These are:

• Birmingham
• Bristol
• Cambridge
• Leeds Bradford
• Liverpool
• London
• Manchester
• Nottinghamshire
• Oxford
• Scotland
• Sheffield
• South Coast
• York
• Wales

The idea is to make an (still) image for the startpage, maybe big size, so it can be re-sized when the new startpage is designed. The image should be more in height than in width (upright). This image will link to the actual map.

Specs

The actual map is a map of the UK, with areas or dots for the regions (see above). When going over a region with the mouse, it gives the name, url and possibly a screenshot. When clicking it will bring you to the regions page.

The actual map:

• will show on a white background
• should be approx 350-400 pixles width
• should ideally only contain html
• when images are uploaded to the server they get an image number allocated (for example: /images/2007/01/359938.jpg)
• ideally only html should be used (will check)
• all this can then be uploaded into a normal article form but will be a static page, such as: http://publish.indymedia.org.uk/en/static/regions.html
