When creating Major Report topics the Mir name = the title and the Mir description = the description and the Mir filename = last bit of the URL, eg mayday and the Mir Name of startpage template in etc/producer = topicpage.template and finally the Mir archive url = actions/2006. After creating the new page, hit navigate.generate and topicstartpage.generate

To create a Major Report Topic, log into admin, click on Super-user functions, click on Topics, look at how existing topics are set up, then click on add. The Mir name = the title and the Mir description = the description and the Mir filename = last bit of the URL, eg mayday and the Mir Name of startpage template in etc/producer = topicpage.template and finally the Mir archive url = actions/2006. After creating the new page, hit navigate.generate and topicstartpage.generate on the 'advanced page' linked to from the admin start.

After a new topic is created or one is renamed, or a description of a topic is edited then the majorreports.inc file will need editing to update the Major Reports box on the front page, get the HTML for the items for this from this HTML fragment: http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/navigation.newactions.html To regenerate this fragment run navigation.generate in the admin interface, this should be done after a topic is added or a topic title or description is changed.
